Program Terms & Conditions
Please read the following Terms & Conditions carefully. It contains essential information about your Globally Abroad, LLC (GBA) program. It must be signed by all participants of GBA who are 18 years of age at the time of signing or will become 18 during the program. If the Participant is a minor at the time of completing the application, at least one parent/guardian must also sign as evidence of their understanding of and agreement to the terms and conditions, on their own behalf and on behalf of the minor Participant. When used below, “I” or “Participant(s)” refers to the minor and adult Participant and the parent/guardian of the minor Participant.
Our business continually changes, as do our policies and any rules and regulations posted on the site, including the Program Terms and Conditions. We may or may not email or in other ways, provide you with periodic reminders of changes to our policies. Still, the participant’s obligation to check the site frequently to see if there are any recent changes to any of our policies or program terms and conditions. GBA reserves the right to revise these program terms and conditions at any time without providing notice to participants. Your continued use of the site or the services shall be deemed an irrevocable acceptance of any such revisions.
Application Process To be considered for the chosen program, every Participant must complete, sign, and submit an online application accompanying the required enrollment fee. For minor participants under the age of 18, a parent/guardian must sign on behalf of the minor Participant. Upon receipt of a completed application and full enrollment fee, participants will receive a confirmation email containing available dates for an online video session. It is an opportunity for GBA to express program expectations and the program enrollment process while giving participants the same opportunity and more. Depending on acceptance, participants will receive another email enclosing log-in credentials to the Global Portal. If participants are not accepted into the desired program due to availability, participants will have an option to select another program or request a full refund (excluding the processing fee). If participants are not accepted into the program due to eligibility, a full refund will be given (excluding the processing fee).
Program Acceptance Upon conditional acceptance into the chosen program, participants will be granted account access containing personal information, receipts, submission, and important links via the Global Portal. Participants must update their account with any immediate changes via the portal. These changes include contact information, such as mailing addresses, email, and telephone numbers. It is the responsibility of every Participant to inform GBA of these changes. GBA will request the following forms to be reviewed, signed, and returned within fourteen (14) days of receipt:

- Waiver of Liability and Assumption Risk Agreement

These forms are required to be signed by the adult participant or the parent/guardian on behalf of the minor Participant. The Participant’s final acceptance to the program is contingent upon the receipt and review of all forms.
GBA serves minority teens & young adults from all over the U.S. and other countries; however, the programs are not limited to minority teens and young adults. We do not discriminate [in their admissions policies on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation. GBA is not, however, a program for those with severe mental, physical, or emotional difficulties. Participants must agree to inform GBA in writing, before or in conjunction with the application of current or past history of counseling and psychological or similar therapy for behavior issues or behavior modification. Participants understand that they have a continuing obligation to inform GBA in writing of any new instance of counseling or therapy occurring after receipt of this application but before program departure. GBA reserves the right to refuse admission to programs, in appropriate cases, and any such refusal or removal of a participant for conditions that were not or insufficiently disclosed will be without refund.
Travel Arrangements & Rules
Participants authorize GBA and its representatives to make arrangements, accommodations, rules, and regulations they may deem advisable, in their discretion, for the well-being and welfare of all participants. Participants are expected to comply with all GBA rules and regulations.
Flights and Transportation In any instance, a participant misses a flight to the program’s destination or inter-connecting flight within the program, GBA will not be financially responsible.
Lost, Stolen, Damaged Items
GBA and its representatives shall not be responsible for a participant’s lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings. The participants agree to be responsible for paying for any damages caused by the Participant.
The participants understand that GBA does not engage personnel qualified to provide medical, dental, health, or other similar care or services to participants. GBA will obtain any medical or dental treatment that we, in our sole discretion, feel is necessary or advisable for the health of a participant and the health of the group. Therefore, the Participant agrees to pay all costs and expenses incurred directly or indirectly by Globally Abroad for this care or other costs incurred for the well being of the Participant. GBA will make all attempts to reach the parent/guardian if care is sought or deemed advisable and will attempt to make contact again regarding any medications recommended or prescribed.
Payment Options & Refund Policy
GBA only accepts credit card payments for initial enrollment fees. For the remaining program payment the following payment options are accepted: Credit Card, Cashier’s Check, or ACH Bank Transfer. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure GBA receives each payment on the specified due date. A $35 late fee will be applied to the account balance for any payment made after the specified due date.
GBA accepts program payments in full. Payment options are also available to participants who need a little more time. Online program payments can be made here. There is a two-month deadline for all program payments, whether paying in full or paying with the following three (3) payment plans:
- Max10 – allows participants to secure ten monthly installments with the final installment paid no later than two months before the program start date. Please note: This option is only available for programs starting in the summer of 2021.
- Super5 – allows participants to secure five monthly installments with the final installment paid no later than two months before the program start date.
- Accel4 – allows any participant who registers after the after five-month time frame and wishes to take advantage of a payment plan. This is an accelerated installment and all payments must be arranged biweekly to meet the final payment deadline.
If a participant opts to pay the remaining program amount in full, the full amount must be paid up to 30 days after program acceptance. For participants who would like to take advantage of either payment plan, the first payment must be paid up to 30 days after program acceptance. GBA accepts full-tuition enrollments after the two-month deadline, upon availability. (For example: If the program departure date is July 15 and there is enrollment on or after April 15, the full program amount will be due upon acceptance). This is dependent on program availability.
Any enrollment fee paid prior to January 30 is eligible for a full refund. After January 30, enrollment fee is non-refundable however is eligible for transfer to another program within the same year or up to the following year. Enrollment fees will no longer be transferable after one year.
Payments and trip cancellations are refundable minus any non-refundable amounts paid from your fees for cancellations made two months prior to the program start date. Non-refundable costs include but are not limited to Application Fee, deposits made on accommodations and meals, etc. Trips canceled on or after program start date is non-refundable. No refund is given for any unused program features, whether because of participants’ choice, bad weather, or other reasons. Participants understand they are responsible for all costs of an early departure, whether for medical purposes, dismissal, personal emergencies, or otherwise.
Travel Medical Insurance
Each program includes travel medical insurance via our partners at IMG. This component is included in the program furthermore required. Participants will not receive reimbursement or a tuition reduction if they hold their own travel insurance. Please note that trip cancellation is not included in this particular insurance package. Participants are encouraged to purchase an additional layer of protection for trip cancellations. For further information, visit our Travel Insurance page.
Medical and Liability Release Agreement
Participants assume all of the risk of participating in any/all activities associated with GBA including by way of example and not limitation, any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities being released, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained, or controlled by them, or because of their possible liability without fault. Participants certify that they are physically fit, have sufficiently prepared or trained for participation in this program, and have not been advised to not participate by a qualified medical professional.
Participants certify that there are no health-related reasons or problems which preclude the participation in this activity. In case of a medical emergency, GBA is authorized to administer first aid and to engage the services of a physician, dentist, or hospital. The physician or dentist selected may hospitalize, secure proper treatment for, and order injection, anesthesia, or surgery for the Student. GBA and any third-party medical care providers are authorized to exchange pertinent medical information. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact Parent/Guardian or Emergency Contact if a medical emergency or serious illness occurs. The Participant or Parent/Guardian shall pay the cost of all medical services and any costs incurred by GBA staff while accompanying the Participant, including lodging, transportation, and expenses related to rejoining the group.
Globally Abroad Activities & Risks
Participants understand the nature of the activities and the risks described in the Declaration of GBA Activities and Risks, and that other risks may be encountered that are not described in the declaration; and participants assume all risks of enrolling and participating in the activities of GBA, including the negligence of GBA. If the Participant is a minor, the parent has discussed the activities and risks with the minor who chooses to participate. Except as otherwise expressly provided herein, participants take full responsibility for any injury or loss, including death, that participants may suffer arising in whole or in part out of enrollment or participation in the activities of GBA, including the negligence of GBA.
Release & Indemnity
Participants agree to release and discharge (agreeing to make no claims, and not to sue) Globally Abroad, LLC, its owners, employees, trustees, officers and directors, and the owners and operators of any vessel on which the programs are conducted (individually and collectively referred to as Released Parties) from all claims of injury or loss that the Participant may suffer arising out of or in any way connected with enrollment or participation in an activity of GBA, including the negligence of GBA. The Participant indemnifies the Released Parties from any claim or demand brought at any time by the minor child, or me, or anyone else, arising out of or in any way related to the enrollment or participation in an activity of GBA, including the negligence of GBA. The Participant understands that Indiana law may limit their authority to execute a pre-injury release. The Participant makes the release and indemnity only to the extent that Indiana law permits.
Passports & Visas
Participants are required to maintain a passport for all international programs with at least six months of validity from the last day of the trip. The airlines may deny travel, and the passport officials may refuse entry if participants try to travel with a passport that expires under six months. GBA will make every effort to verify passport validity; however, this is the responsibility of the participants and parents/guardians.
GBA will help guide participants through the steps necessary to obtain a visa if required. Knowing what is needed for each destination, obtaining the proper applications, submitting all the required paperwork, and all costs incurred are the responsibility of the parent/guardian and not GBA regardless of circumstances. All necessary documentation must accompany the Participant provides GBA with a copy. GBA will assume no role whatsoever in this process nor its successful or accurate completion. We will also not assume any liability whatsoever, financial or otherwise for non-admittance to any destination country.
Photos & Videos
I grant permission to Globally Abroad the rights of my image, in video or still, and of the likeness and the sound of my voice as recorded on audio or video without payment or any other consideration. I understand that my image may be edited, copied, exhibited, published, or distributed and waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein my likeness appears. Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of my image or recording. I also understand that this material may be used in diverse educational settings within an unrestricted geographic area.
Photographic, audio, or video recordings may be used for ANY USE, which may include but is not limited to: presentations, courses, online/internet videos, media, and news (press).
Global Code of Conduct Agreement
GBA is a youth-serving, community-based company dedicated to providing a worldwide travel experience. Participation in our programs is subject to the observance of our organization’s rules and procedures. Along with standard expectations, the specific activities outlined below are strictly prohibited. Any participant who violates this Code is subject to discipline, up to and including removal from the program.
- Possession or use of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs
- Sexual intimacy or inappropriate exclusive relationships
- Bullying or taking unfair advantage of any participant
- Harm to self or others
- Bringing onto dangerous or unauthorized materials such as explosives, firearms, weapons or other similar items
- Discourtesy, rudeness, or abusive language towards a staff member, volunteer or another
- Verbal, physical or visual harassment of another participant, staff
- member or volunteer
- Actual or threatened violence toward any individual or group
- No new tattoos or piercings, or engagement with any activity that could bring a student into contact with things that may poison his/her blood
- Conduct endangering the life, safety, health or well-being of others.
- Use of forbidden modes of transportation, such as motorcycles
- Failure to follow any of GBA or contractor’s policy or procedure
- Failing to cooperate with an adult
Participant agrees to abide by the rules described in the Global Code of Conduct and understands that they may be removed as a participant if any violating offense occurs. GBA reserves the right to dismiss any participant from the program that staff believes, in their discretion, presents a safety concern or medical risk, is disruptive, or otherwise conducts him or herself in a manner detrimental to the program. If the Participant is dismissed or departs from the GBA program for any reason, no refunds will be granted.
